1853 Born on 25 December in Tilburg, Holland

1867 Entered the diocesan Minor Seminary at Michels, Gestel, Holland

1876 Became a member of the Mill Hill Missionary Society, England on 18 March

1878 Ordained a priest on 21 December

1879 Called to Afghanistan

1881 Appointed Parish Priest of St. Andrew’s Church, Vepery-Madras

1883 Founded the Congregation of the Franciscan Sisters of St. Joseph at Vepery on 13 February

1887 Established the Congregation of Franciscan Sisters of St. Joseph at Vepery on 19 March

1902 Ordained Bishop of Madras on 2 February

1911 Assumed the Pastoral Leadership of the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Madras on 17 February

1911 Appointed member of the Legislative Council

1928 Attained Heavenly Abode on 11 February at the age of 75. Laid to Rest in St. Mary’s Co-Cathedral at Broadway, Chennai.
